Veteran's Day

It cracks me up to think that many people today wont realize that its veterans day. Im guessing that a lot of students will though because majority of college students have no classes or the high school, middle school have assemblys to remember veterans in their own way.
I was walking across campus today and was handed a bible..im not really sure by who or why but someone told me it was because it was veterans day. Peoples views on things are certainly messed up if they think those two things are related.
My mother on the same note, only remembered Veterans day to the fact that there was no mail today. Its funny how some people rememeber national holidays.
I guess it takes a miracle for people to remember to thank others. 9/11 was only a big deal in remembering the event for the first couple years after the disaster. You would see the magentic ribbons everywhere but now you barely ever see them around. I guess things change after years.
Well i'll say it. Thank you to all the veterans!!!

h1n1

Isnt it funny that until someone close to you says, "oh by the way, the doctor says i have H1N1", you feel fine. But the second you hear that news, you start feeling sick? Thats what happened to me. This whole H1N1 epidemic is taking over the whole world including my family. There is not a day that goes by that i dont get told to open a phone book and find where to get the new vaccination. Like putting a dead virus from an egg embro in me is going to help me fight off the swine.
If im going to get sick, its going to happen. This country is spending billions of dollars on trying to keep us from getting sick, when im pretty sure its their master plan to get us all sick with this shitty economy and bad healthcare system, so they can reap the benefits.
The thing i am most disturbed about is that people are running out and standing in lines for hours to get something that we dont even know if its going to work. The government could put anything in those needles and we would just roll up our sleeves. Now i am a science nerd so i do find it amazing to think that millions of people take vaccinations from eggs and that science has come that far, but the regular flu shot has been tested and retested every year for over 30 years. and this new H1N1 shot just reached the appropriate level in April. Why are we so app to trust it? For God sakes; regular drugs have to be on the market with no large problems for 10 years before a generic is made. I think there is a reason for that.

Well im off to get my H1N1 shot, only because hospitals treat you like shit when you have the flu and didnt get the shot. I know from personal experience.

Isn't it funny?

Doesnt it always seem like right when life is going great, something always seems to take a turn for the worse. Im not saying like someone dies or you get injured, but its just enough to make you wake up in the morning and just 'sign'.
I know im being a Debbie Downer on this whole situation but it seems like part of Life's Misconceptions is that happiness is based on the beholder, but each one of us knows that there comes a time when happiness cant be man made. I guess part of me wants to be optimistic but paople are always somewhat pesimistic or the world wouldnt have things like eharmony.com. If people were optimisic about finding true love and thought that they could do it on their own, they wouldnt need to have a website do it for them. Im not bashing dating sites or people that use them, because i already know at the age of 20 that im most likely going to be on there in a few years. Isnt it funny how we were raised to believe that everything happens for a reason, but for some reason were alone? Isnt is funny how difficult it is to be happy? Isnt it funny how you dont want what you can have? Maybe ill be more positive next writing.
Hope the best for everyone!
